Watering Pumpkins – Part 2

From my irrigation manifold, my .700 poly tubing runs to a 15 psi pressure reducer that came with the drip line kit I brought off of Amazon. Its critical that this reducer be used with the drip tubing so it the water pressure doesn’t blow out the drip emitters.

Bury the drip tape about 3″ – 4″ down. An easy way to ensure this dept is the get a small piece 4×4″ lumber, and use it as a depth gauge.

During the plants first few weeks, I water every 2 days for an hour at a time. When the flowering begins and pumpkins start to form, I increase this to every 3 days for 2 hours at a time.

I water early in the morning, around 3 am.
